Thanks for being open, Coach. I wasn't really trying to question anything. I was looking at the CrossFit Endurance web site today, and taking a look at some of their WODs. It sounds like they do a basic WOD (strength and conditioning), and then 3+ hours later, do an endurance event. I haven't totally read into why the wait is needed (except that you haven't had time to recover from the WOD yet, I guess), between WOD's.
I guess the endurance part could just be a run in the morning, or evening, and the CF WOD at the other end of the day. For instance, for me, I could go running, or mountain biking, or even come in and do some rowing, I guess.
...not like I really have time to be doing two WODs a day or anything, LOL, it would be nice though!

Quoting Craig Descoteaux:
4 x 5 min c2 rower 7/10/10 10 rnds 100 meter sprints 6/30/10 rowing ladder 6/16/10 5 x 800 meters 6/4/10 3 rnds row run 200 meters,500,750 4/27/10 row 8 x 250 4/19/10 cover max distance 3/30/10 'death by 10 meters" 3/22/10
The endurance training is based mostly on interval training. Being able to run your engine on red while mainting the same distance in each interval is better than long, slow distances. Yes, you will see longer distances programmed, but those are time trials,it is to compare your times to test the training protocol. The programming was covered in my crossfit endurance certification a while back.
Okay, I see it now. Should have, I checked, and I did 6 of those 8 WOD's...LOL.
I tell you what, I think the 10 x 100m sprinting was the hardest...at least, I felt that the longest afterwards! Brutal!
don't feel that you cannot ask questions about programming. I am very open to questions, comments, criticism, suggestions, or whatever else. I strive to continually progress every athlete that walks through our doors. I try to maintain a balance between strength, gpp, skill specific, endrance as much as possible. thank you for your patience and feedback :)

we did . . . Quoting Jason Bentz:
Coach, I know we don't have bikes or a lake to swim in, but do you think we'll do some CrossFit Endurance WODs? I wonder maybe if that could be a weekend thing, maybe, because I would assume some of them may take 1.5 - 2 hours or more...

Infinit Quoting Krys Allen:
I think I might grab a bag of that recovery mix, seems pretty legit and I am almost out of my walmart protein anyway.
I think I'm going to try the Infinit, if you are interested in getting any, let me know, because they want $9 to ship one bottle, or $10 for 2...so we could save some on shipping.
This company sells customizable workout/recovery drinks, which is interesting. They also sell pre-set drinks too. I may get the orange, because I was kind of wanting something besides vanilla/chocolate.
I don't know, may have to try both of them...of course, water is the best, at least, for rehydrating, but sometimes I don't have dinner until an hour or two after a workout. So having something I can drink right afterwards, that has more in it than just water would help...

Milk
I found it interesting, because a Zone snack I've seen a lot of people talk about, is a glass of 1% milk, which has the perfect ratio of protein, carbs, and fat for the Zone diet. The Zone diet also focuses on low glycemic index carbs, to keep blood glucose at sustained levels, instead of spiking.
So it appears, that the recovery drink needs to have a high glycemic index to be effective... Interesting reading, and it's at a level that most can understand.

* Quoting Brandon Brown:
That is all I can say lol
LOL, well, I can only imagine doing these drills when it's 95 out. I think it was 80 when I left. I think I probably ended up running over a mile, by the time all the drills were done. Since it was just me, I got to practice a lot more.
On that note, Jeff and I have been talking about recovery drinks. Both of us had heard that some people use chocolate milk as a recovery drink. I was doing a little poking around, and found this article...take it with a grain of salt, because he is selling his own special blend of "chocolate milk," but the information seems to be pretty good.
I don't think I've ever worked that hard on a skill day before...I think I left looking like Brandon.
HAHAHA!!!! Does that mean you left looking super sweaty?
LOL, yep, dripping wet. In his words, "my arms are glistening..." Haha.

Thanks for the one-on-one training session this morning coach. I think it really helped me doing the drills this morning. It was amazing to see how you thought you were doing it, only to find out that you weren't.
I have a lot of practicing to do, but feel like I'm doing better every time we do the POSE skill days. Got to work on my pull, lean, and relaxing the kankles. Feels like I got the forefoot landing down, just got to work on the rest.
