When did you first start CrossFitting? I started Crossfit on April of 2015.

Tell us about your sports & fitness background.

I did Track, Cross Country, volleyball, and club soccer from middle school through high school. I have always been a very energized, active, outdoors person, so anything that gets me moving interest me. Currently I have fallen in love competing in Crossfit competitions.

How did you first get into CrossFit? How did it go?

I got into Crossfit because I gained the Freshman 15, and I was disappointed I had let myself go so much after high school.. My old friend Jr introduced me to it. I began to do it because I wanted to lose weight, but now my goals and mentality have changed, and I just want to persevere to be the best physical version of myself.

What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit?

Before Crossfit had little chicken runner legs, stick arms, and absolutely no muscle mass.. I had that skinny fat body. After starting to do Crossfit, I’ve noticed myself gaining muscles where I’ve never had muscles before. I have slowly begun to make healthier food choices by choosing to cut out pop, fast food, and most sweets. Out of all my years of doing sports, I have never had such a well rounded level of fitness, as I do now.

What impact has CrossFit had on your life?

Crossfit has completely changed my perspective on what women are able and not able to do. I continue to be amazed everyday discovering what my body is capable of doing, and this is only the beginning. It has increased my perseverance, motivation, and work ethic in not just the gym, but in my everyday life. If a 4′ 10” girl can put 145lbs over her head, I can definitely graduate college and build the life of my dreams.

What is your advice for people getting started or thinking about starting CrossFit?

Definitely try it! Don’t listen to what people have to say. I can sit here all day and tell you all the good things about Crossfit, but it won’t start changing your life until you try it. It only takes one class, and your life will be changed forever.

What are your hobbies, interests, and other talents outside of CrossFit?

There’s not much outside of Crossfit because I am completely in love with it, but I do love to listen to music and horribly sing with it. I love to take pictures of everything and anything. I love to read all sorts of books, I love to draw and journal. I love to craft coffee drinks and practice my latte art at work. I enjoy spending time with my five younger siblings, and get in all sorts of trouble together. I also play club ball on an all woman’s adult league on Sunday’s.
