When did you first start CrossFit?
I started CrossFit around April of 2018.
Tell us about your sports & fitness background.
Growing up, from elementary school through high school, I played football and wrestled. I walked on and played football during college for a year. I have always tried to stay active, but more times than not when I would go workout I would not have a plan/program to follow. I would find myself wandering around the gym doing a lot more sitting, scrolling though my phone than anything else.
How did you first get intoCrossFit? How did it go?
I knew I needed a change when it came to my fitness and overall health. I started asking around and one of my friends introduced me to CrossFit and his gym had a free class. Eventually, I was convinced into going to a class and I FELL IN LOVE!!! I had heard of CrossFit, but had no idea what it really was. It brought back so many feelings that I had been missing while working out by myself. It reminded me of the weight room in football working out with a close-knit family. I have been slightly obsessed ever since!
What sort of changes have you seeninyour body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit?
Since starting CrossFit, I have been able to lose over 40lbs. I have learned so much within the 2 years of CrossFit, from nutrition, knowledge of form, proper technique, and just my overall mindset when it comes t olife. CrossFit has helped me reach goals I never thought were possible. I am in better shape and stronger at 30 years old than I was at any point during my 20s.
What impact has CrossFit had on your life?
It has completely changed my life. I feel like it brings out a mental toughness in you where you can push yourself further than you ever thought you were capable of going. With that you can apply that same mentality to any aspect of life.
What is your advice for people getting started or thinking about stting CrossFit?
It does not matter if you been in the gym your entire life or if you have never stepped foot into a gym before. You will be welcomed with open arms and encouraged by every single member, every single day, every single workout.
What are your hobbies, interests, and other talents outside of CrossFit? Caiti-Beth and I like to try new restaurants when we get the chance. Spending time with our triplets. Anything that involves being around water and watching movies.
