When did you first start CrossFitting?

Tell us about your sports & fitness background.
I haven’t ever really considered myself an athlete. I cheered for my high school, we competed in regionals every year and made it to state twice.
How did you first get into CrossFit?
My father in law and step mom does CrossFit at other locations and hearing them talk about it convinced me to give it a try.
How did it go?
I started in January and have been hooked since. I was terrified to go at first but as soon as I got there everyone was so welcoming and made me feel comfortable!
What sort of changes have you seen in your body, health, and fitness since starting CrossFit?
I have gained strength mentally and physically! It seems like every time I turn around I’m surprising myself on my ability to do something. I have always worked out at the gym by myself making up my own routines and have never seen the kind of progress that I have made in just these past 3 months of doing CrossFit. I definitely have Sally and Aaron to thank for getting me to where I am. They both have worked with me and helped me push myself since day one. And a big thank you to Sally for not getting mad at me when I ask you how much weight I should use…. EVERYDAY. 😉
What impact has CrossFit had on your life?
CrossFit has greatly impacted my life, it is very addicting! I try to go Monday-Friday and then I take Saturday and Sunday off, on those two days off I always think about how I wish I could be at CrossFit!! I have gained a lot of friendships in the 9:30 class. You become kind of like a little CrossFit family, everyone is always there to encourage and support one another. Joining CrossFit Eclipse and meeting everyone truly has been a blessing!
What is your advice for people getting started or thinking about starting CrossFit?
My advice would be to give it a try!! Our coaches are very good about working with each person individually, they would never let you do something that they don’t think you are capable of doing. They can make modifications for just about anything, trust me, I know from experience! It’s a good challenge and great group of people to be around.
What are your hobbies, interests, and other talents outside of CrossFit?
I was raised in the country, so I enjoy pretty much anything outdoors from riding horses, fishing and hunting! I enjoy going antique shopping and looking at all the vintage items that they have. While living in California I found that I also love to go on hikes and ride bikes on the beach trails.
